Accomplished writer and fashionista Alexandra Joel has turned her talent to fiction for the first time.
Alexandra’s debut novel The Paris Model is a story of love, betrayal, family secrets – and haute couture, naturally. Set in both the Paris house of Dior and a vast Australian sheep station, it’s a riveting tale of hidden identity and the glamorous fashion world of post-war Paris.
Alexandra’s most recent book was Rosetta: A Scandalous True Story, a biography of her eccentric great-grandmother who ran away with a Chinese fortune teller. She also wrote Parade: The Story of Fashion in Australia and Best Dressed: 200 Years of Fashion in Australia. She is a former editor of Harper’s Bazaar and a practising counsellor and psychotherapist.
