Thomas Mayor

In the centre of Australia, the Uluru Statement From the Heart was formed to represent our Indigenous people's hopes for the future. At its centre was Thomas Mayor, a Torres Strait Islander man born on Larrakia country.

Since then, Thomas has travelled to share the message held in the Uluru Statement - how it came to be, and what it means for all Australians.

From that journey, he wrote Finding the Heart of the Nation. As well as stunning photos of the land, the book holds interviews with key people, Indigenous yarns, and Thomas?s personal story. It also tells the story of an important moment in Australia?s history.

If you've wondered what the Uluru Statement means, if you'd like a deeper understanding of 'First Nations voice' and 'Makarrata Commission', join us at this special event.

Thomas will be in-conversation with Suzannah Cowley, a Highlands-based journalist and film-maker.

Tickets: $60 per person and includes one course and a glass of wine.
